Message from the Principal - Kevin Knopman

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share my excitement about my appointment as the new principal of Beit Rayim Hebrew School.  The school has a reputation of excellence.  I feel fortunate to be joining a school culture focused on student learning, a commitment to high expectations, innovation and collaboration.  It is my intention to carry on these important traditions and practices. 

My main goal for the school is to create a safe learning environment where all students feel encouraged to take risks, and to succeed.   I intend to motivate students to do so by promoting an atmosphere of consistency and relevance in the classroom and throughout the school’s programs.  I will continue to strengthen Beit Rayim’s reputation in the community by creating and implementing up to date, relevant units of study where students can accomplish defined expectations, including reading Hebrew, and appreciate the value in the learning.

By encouraging our outstanding teachers to centre their lessons around the students, and relating the material to their everyday lives, we will succeed in preventing problems that arise when students are not engaged.  As a result, both learning and time will be maximized in the classroom. Students detect and respond positively to structure, sincerity, and warmth.  These qualities are evident in my leadership style and enable me to easily build an excellent rapport with students and members of the school community.

I look forward to meeting all of you during the upcoming school year.  Have a safe and relaxing summer.  School is right around the corner!
