Debra Milner

I am a South African-born Canadian who arrived 4 years ago from London, England. I grew up in a Jewish home and was blessed to have been surrounded by Yiddishkeit and Jewish instruction by both my parents (Z”L) and extended family, friends, and community. I, my husband, and 3 daughters have been proud members of Beit Rayim for 4 years.

After graduating University with degrees in Law and Psychology, I went on to grow over 20 years experience in financial services, fintech, some (US military work) and latterly I partnered in a VC with a green agenda. I currently work from home as COO of a wonderful business accelerator out of the US (Linked Strategies). I traveled extensively over 4 continents and speak several languages, but my crown jewels are my family.

Though my professional knowledge and background would surely help me to serve our Board and community, great value will hopefully come from the ethical systems planted in me by my Rabbis and teachers.

South Africans refer to a synagogue as a Shul (Yiddish: Schulle: School). I believe the Synagogue serves as our central school of thought and learning and look forwards to helping strengthen and grow our community.
