Lorraine Bloom

We joined Beit Rayim Synagogue in 1999 . As a young family, we were looking for a Shul where we would feel connected and part of a community. Over the years, we have become more involved in Shul life.

Our kids have been Bar and Bat Mitzvah'd at Beit Rayim, my husband David has served as Co-President, I acted as Lay Leader for the ShinShinim program for 3 years, and our daughter was an Assistant Teacher at the Hebrew School. We have made many friends through our time and involvement at Beit Rayim and this is a testament to the House of Friends philosophy.

Outside of Shul life, I have been involved in various capacities at USDS/Robbins Hebrew Academy when our kids were students there. I have also been an active member in my Hadassah chapter, with roles on the Executive almost every year since joining in 1992. I also sat on the CHW Toronto Board for several years, before deciding to focus my efforts at the chapter level. Right now, I am focusing on my career as a fine art photographer. I am excited to be able to contribute to the Beit Rayim community in a productive way.
