Bonita Majonis

I have been a member since the year my husband died, 2019. I joined this egalitarian Shul as my husband was very immersed in Lubavitch and then Modern Orthodox minyamin. I found these old fashioned, and discriminatory to me as a woman. As a member of the board, I wish to provide my part in good governance for the Shul.

I am a Social Worker and worked for my whole career in child welfare in Southern Ontario, obtaining a terminal position as Director of Quality Assurance. I supported my employer’s board for years and reported to them on quality metrics. I also was a board member for several years for Cedar Centre, formerly the York Region Child Abuse Program. I participated in board activities such as financial monitoring, Board level strategic planning, and the hiring of a Director.

I volunteer for Mackenzie Health. I live with four cats, including Oriental Shorthair brothers who are smarter than I am and always keep things interesting.
